Mental Health Resources has been identified by the state of New Mexico as a Core Service Agency for adults. Mental Health Resources is also an identified Community Mental Health Agency, providing services to adults, adolescents, and children. We offer a wide array of services - please check our Services and Programs page for a complete listing of services we provide.
Q. What areas are served by Mental Health Resources?
Mental Health Resources serves five counties in Eastern New Mexico - Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, DeBaca, and Harding.
Q. How much do services cost at Mental Health Resources?
The cost of services at Mental Health Resources is influenced by multiple factors such as services requested, income and number of dependents, insurance coverage, and eligibility for government assistance, among other things. Mental Health Resources relies on several sources of funding and makes every effort to provide affordable services to clients. We accept most major insurance companies and co-pays, when applicable, are based on a sliding-fee scale.
Q. How does someone begin services at Mental Health Resources?
Mental Health Resources has offices in Clovis, Portales, and Tucumcari, as well as outreach offices in Mosquero and Fort Sumner. Intake appointments can be scheduled by calling or stopping by one of our offices during business hours - Monday-Thursday 8am - 6 pm and Fridays 8am - 5pm. Clovis office's phone number is 575-769-2345, Portales office's phone number is 575-359-1221, Tucumcari office's phone number is 575-461-3013. Q. What should I bring to my initial appointment?
Individuals who would like to enroll with Mental Health Resources should bring a complete list of all medication they are currently on, their insurance card if they have insurance, and proof of income if they have income. Official proof of guardianship is required for adults who accompany non-biological or non-adoptive children.
Q. How do I access specific services?
An individual completes an initial assessment and then meets with their individual clinician to determine what services will best meet their needs.
Q. Does Mental Health Resources provide culturally competent care?
Mental Health Resources is committed to providing services that respect every individual's background and culture, including his or her race or ethnicity, family composition, religious beliefs, age, and sexual orientation among other factors. Services are provided in the individual's preferred language whenever possible.
Q. Can my family be involved in services?
Mental Health Resources believes that support of an individual's identified family and significant other is vital to client success when recovering from mental health and substance abuse problems. If the client chooses, their support system is encouraged to participate in services. The client meets with his or her clinician to determine who will be involved in treatment.
Q. Are services confidential?
In compliance with federal, state, and local law all services and written information at Mental Health Resources are confidential. Information is never released without a client's written consent with the following exceptions:
-Information is requested through a valid court order.
-Identified or suspected child or adult abuse.
-A medical emergency that necessitates disclosure to health professionals.
-The client threatens to harm themselves or someone else.
